Dr. Thomas Naughton was born in New York City and attended undergraduate studies at Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York where he received a Bachelor of Science degree majoring both in Pre-Med Biology and Religious Studies.
He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1984. He completed an internship and residency in Family Practice at St. Peter’s Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He went on to pursue additional studies at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he completed a two year fellowship in Clinical Geriatrics.
Dr. Naughton has also received a Masters of Public Health in the area of Family & Community Health from the School of Public Health of Rutgers University where his master’s thesis discussed the evolving and emerging roles of medical directors in long-term care facilities. He is currently completing a Master of Arts degree in Bioethics from the Graduate School at the Medical College of Wisconsin where his thesis is on the issue of end-of-life malnutrition in the long-term care setting.
He provides medical care along the entire health care continuum including home visits, life care residential communities and nursing home care in addition to an office and hospital practice.
In the past he served as a Geriatric Consultant for 5 years at the Institute of Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders of New Jersey as well as being a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association where he was the Chairman of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board.
